Before you get a bot:
- Make sure there are at least 3 opped users in your channel!
- All channels must follow the Quakenet rules
- No Q, S or other Eggdrops, only L is allowed.
- You are allowed to have a CW/Live-bot or mIRC bot
- Check our website, topic & help before asking any questions!
When you got a bot:
- Do not ban / deop / kick the bot. That will get your bot removed and your userlist will be lost
- Do not just add all the users joining the channel as ops or voices as the chances of takeovers increases drastically if you have unknown users added. If you want the bot to voice all users, use !autovoice on, instead of adding each user
- Consult our homepage/guides for help on commands before you go to #Stream-Help for help
- When the channel for some reason is being closed or not used anymore, please type /msg botnick leavechan #channel reason
#StreamBots channel rules:
- Read the topic!
- Because the channel mode +m (moderated) is always set on #StreamBots, you can't write to the channel
- Do not send private messages to the channel operators/vioces unless they have given you permission!
- Be patient, the admins might be busy!
- In general support should be obtained from #Stream-Help, not #StreamBots
- Idling is allowed in condition of that it doesn't interfere with the purpose and work in #StreamBots
- Read the topic again :)
Please be patient and respect the admins for their work, they do it for free - And for you.
#Stream-Help channel rules
- Idling is allowed in condition of that it is not interfering with the purpose and work in #Nordic-Help.
- Repeating and flooding are not allowed except if given permission from a helper or admin.
- Any harassment, fighting and foul language in #Stream-Help is ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN and is subject to immediate kick/ban by any channel operator!
- Begging, commercializing, asking to join channels to fill them (to get Q or other bot) and using any MP3 or warez script is forbidden.
- Abusing any #Stream-Help service is strictly forbidden.
- Distribution of warez, asking for warez or warez distribution sites is strictly forbidden and will result in a permanent ban without warning. If this is broken more than once, it will be reported to the QuakeNet operators.
- Excessive use of CAPITAL LETTERS, colours, bold and channel-wide NOTICE's or CTCP's are forbidden.
- Do not send private messages to the channel operators/voices unless they give permission.
Please be patient and respect the admins and helpers for their work, they do it for free - And for you!
QuakeNet
network rules: (SHOULD BE UPDATED TO REFLECT QUAKENET'S NEWEST RULES!)
#1. Open Proxies Scan |
Proxy Probe |
All clients are scanned upon connection for open proxies. That means
that the service tries to connect to the user's computer, and if
successful, try to connect back to QuakeNet, through the proxy. If
successful with that, the user gets a temporary ban from QuakeNet. It is
up to the user to secure his or her computer.
Read more about Open Proxies here.
|
|
#2. Reasons for banning from the network |
|
Reasons for banning and/or disconnections from QuakeNet include, but
are not limited to, the following: |
Flooding |
This means pinging, sending large amounts of text, joining and parting
channels rapidly, repeatedly versioning command and similar behaviour. |
Illegal Material |
This includes, but is not limited to; Illegal copies of software,
distribution of MP3 files, movies (VCD/DivX), ie; any copyrighted
material where the copyright is not owned by the user. |
Pornography |
QuakeNet is intended to be a multiplayer gaming network, therefore you
are not allowed to trade, sell, buy or deal in any other way with sexual/pornographic
material on QuakeNet. |
Clones |
If you need to run more than five clients on your connection (LAN
Party, bots etc), you need to contact an administrator/oper (or mail info@quakenet.org)
before you connect, or your clients will get glined.
Note, that shell providers are REQUIRED to run identd before
trusts for running over 5 clients will be granted.
Also note, that with the exception of very short time events, for
example weekend lan parties, trusts will not be granted to dynamic ip
addresses. |
Takeovers |
Taking over a channel will result in a network ban. |
Racism &
Nazism |
Propagating racism or nazism, or distribution of racist material will
result in a network ban. |
Spamming &
Advertising |
Massive spamming and/or advertising (ie. promoting your website,
product, whatever) in channels is forbidden. |
Hacking |
Any attempts to hack the network or other users, will result in a
network ban and a report to the ISP of the user in question. |
Multiplayer cheats |
Spreading multiplayer cheats is not allowed. Channels dedicated to
this will be closed. |
Other |
An IRC Operator may ban a user without warning should the IRC oper
feel it is necessary. |
|
#3. Bots |
Channel Protect Bots |
Channel protectbots (eggdrop bots etc.) are allowed, as long as they
are used according to the rules under #2. QuakeNet does not offer help
to configure your bots, or provide a server for the users to run a bot
from! If you can't configure a bot, don't run a bot! |
Other Bots |
Floodbots, Clonebots etc. are forbidden and will result in a network
ban. |
|
#4. IRC Operators |
|
The staff of the network are called IRC Operators or Administrators.
They are different from other users in that they have more power than
the ordinary user. They are on the network to be of assistance with
various matters, placing the channel service in channels, answer
questions etc. There are however, some points that need to be pointed
out: |
#Feds
QuakeNet
IRC Operator
Channel |
IRC Operators of QuakeNet are volunteers. They do not get paid for
their work. Most of the IRC Operators have ordinary work to attend to at
day and/or night time, families etc. The IRC Operators of QuakeNet are
NOT required or obligated to help users at any time.
Sometimes, this means that it will take some time to get help in
#feds. Please be patient, and if you don't get any help from an IRC
Operator, please come back later. If you don't require help from an IRC
Operator, try to join #help, as they are qualified to help out in the
most cases, and answer a lot of questions.
Please note that #feds is not a "How do I do this and that"
question channel. This channel is for reporting abuse, network questions,
advanced Q questions etc. Questions not regarding these issues, will be
ignored. Please see #feds channel
rules for rules about this channel.
|
#help
QuakeNet
Help
Channel |
The staff of #help do not get paid for their work. Like the IRC
Operators, helpers have jobs, families, etc. to attend to. Therefore, it
might take some time to get help in their channel as well. Please be
patient, and if you don't get any help from the #help staff, please come
back later. |
Becoming an IRC Operator |
Becoming an IRC operator requires not only a strong working knowledge
of IRC and this IRC network, but also a working relationship with hub
admins and other opers. Opers are selected when there is a need, and
never given based on who is asking for it. |
|
#5. Nicknames |
|
QuakeNet does not use Nickserv to reserve nicknames. As a result of
this, you cannot register your nickname on QuakeNet. If a nickname is
available, any user is allowed to use it.
However, this does NOT apply to the nicknames of IRC
Operators, Helpers
and Network services, due to security related issues. If a user uses any
of these nicknames, an operator may immediately disconnect the user from
the network WITHOUT prior notice. |
|
#6. Q (QuakeNet Channel Service) |
Requesting Q |
If you want Q to your channel, read the GUIDE.
And please follow ALL the directions in the guide, or your request will
most likely be rejected. |
Q Commands |
Please see http://www.quakenet.org/qfaq |
Q Questions |
If you have general questions, and can't find the answer in the Q FAQ,
join #help |
Q Exceptions |
Q will not be granted to freeop or freevoice channels of any kind.
When found, Q will be immediately suspended from these channels. |
Please respect the StreamBots & the QuakeNet rules.
More information about the QuakeNet rules can be found at:
